   6 Purpose
   7 =======
   8 - The purpose of these requirements is to accelerate adoption of xNF best
   9   practices which will increase innovation, minimize customization needed to
  10   onboard xNFs as well as reduce implementation complexity, time and cost
  11   for all impacted stakeholders.
  12 - This initial release consolidates the requirements from Open-O and OpenECOMP
  13   to provide common xNF requirements across the industry in order to drive
  14   interoperability, simplify management, and reduce cost to build, deploy and
  15   manage xNFs.
  16 - These requirements serve multiple purposes:
  17     - Primarily it provides a detailed list of requirements for xNF
  18       providers to meet to be compatible with ONAP; xNF providers will use
  19       the xNF requirements to build VNFs/PNFs that are compatible with ONAP
  20     - It can also serve as a list of requirements that service providers can
  21       use in RFPs for selecting VNFs/PNFs
  22     - It will also be used as a basis for testing and certification of
  23       xNFs for compliance with ONAP; ONAP projects such as the VNF
  24       Validation Project will uses these xNFs requirements to build test
  25       cases to validate xNFs for compliance with ONAP.
