  16 Purpose

  19 - The purpose of these requirements is to accelerate adoption of xNF best
  20   practices which will increase innovation, minimize customization needed to
  21   onboard xNFs as well as reduce implementation complexity, time and cost
  22   for all impacted stakeholders.
  23 - The consolidated requirements provide common xNF requirements across
  24   the industry in order to drive interoperability, simplify management, and
  25   reduce cost to build, deploy and manage xNFs.
  26 - These requirements serve multiple purposes:
  27     - Primarily it provides a detailed list of requirements for xNF
  28       providers to meet to be compatible with ONAP; xNF providers will use
  29       the xNF requirements to build VNFs/PNFs that are compatible with ONAP
  30     - It can also serve as a list of requirements that service providers can
  31       use in RFPs for selecting VNFs/PNFs
  32     - It will also be used as a basis for testing and certification of
  33       xNFs for compliance with ONAP; ONAP projects such as the VNF
  34       Validation Project will uses these xNFs requirements to build test
  35       cases to validate xNFs for compliance with ONAP.
